The short version

The DashBoost app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of ours. Your vehicle data, dashboards, datalogs and timed runs are created and stored on your device and are not transmitted to us. This website is separate: if you join the launch list or send us a message, we receive the email address and message you type, and the site uses analytics cookies.

The app

What we collect: nothing. DashBoost contains no analytics or tracking frameworks, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no account system. We operate no server that the app sends data to, so we do not receive your vehicle data, your location, your trouble codes, your datalogs or your timed runs.

What stays on your device. Custom gauge clusters, saved performance runs and datalog CSV files are written to your device’s own storage. They remain there until you delete them or remove the app. A datalog leaves your device only if you choose to share the file yourself.

Bluetooth. The app uses Bluetooth solely to communicate with the OBD-II adapter plugged into your vehicle. It does not scan for or record other nearby devices.

Location. The app requests location access for two features: GPS-timed performance measurement (0–60, quarter mile and similar), and the map screen. Location is processed on your device for timing. If you never use those features, you can decline location access and the rest of the app works normally.

Apple Maps. The map and navigation screen is built on Apple’s MapKit. When you use it, Apple receives the information needed to draw maps, search for destinations and calculate routes, including approximate location and any search terms you enter. That exchange is between you and Apple and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours. No other screen in the app uses the network.

The trouble-code database is bundled inside the app, so reading and explaining diagnostic codes works with no internet connection and involves no lookup request.

This website

Forms. If you join the launch list or use the contact form, we receive the email address you enter and, on the contact form, the message you write. These are emailed to us and stored in this site’s own database. We use them to send you the single launch announcement you asked for, or to reply to you. We do not sell them, and we do not add you to any other mailing.

Analytics and cookies. This site uses Google Analytics to understand general traffic patterns, which sets cookies and shares usage data with Google. It also runs OptinMonster, which may set cookies to decide whether to show a signup prompt. You can block cookies in your browser without losing access to any part of the site.

Hosting. The site is hosted by Bluehost, which processes standard server logs including IP addresses.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep waitlist addresses until the app launches and the announcement has been sent, or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first. Contact messages are kept while the conversation is useful and then deleted.

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and we will action it. Because the app itself sends us nothing, there is no app data for us to hand over or delete — that lives only on your device.

Children

DashBoost is intended for licensed drivers and vehicle owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update this page and the date above. If the app ever gains a feature that sends data anywhere, that will be described here before it ships.
